PPTP client frequent disconnect problem

I am using ASL 1.951 and from anywhere on the internet I am using PPTP client to do VPN connection, many times my PPTP client keeps disconnect and I have to reconnect all the times, sometime it stays connected for few minutes and sometime it stays connected for a few hours.  I tried the PPTP client on multiple ISPs and multiple locations and they all face the disconnect problem.

Anyone facing this similar problem ??? is this a Astaro bug ????

    Hi comeanddance,

    we are using it here inhouse for testing purpose and it works fine.

    What happens exactly at the windows machine.
    Can you see anything unusual in the Logfile /var/log/daemon ??

    The windows PPTP client just popup with a reconnect window and if you reconnect that it will connect again and sometime you will have to try a couple of times before it can connect.

    This problem does NOT happen when I tested locally, the windows PC and the ASL Wan are on the same subnet.

    This problem seem to happen many times during the night when Internet is very busy in the U.S, are there any settings in ASL that I can change so it retries few more times before it disconnects ????
