Netmeeting over VPN

Hi there.

I am planning to install ASL on my office router tomorrow and would like to know if it possible to run Netmeeting over the VPN feature. Running into the H323 dilemma myself finding out what horror it is to use a program like Netmeeting over a Linux NAT box I asked myself if all the problems fade away when simply using VPN.

What are your opinions?  [:S]

    But I already knew that article. The Problem is the dynamically added UDP ports. However, I don't want to use a proxy. What I want to do is simply establish a VPN network connection and than use Netmeeting as if I were on a local network. Having no experience with VPN connections I was wondering if this could work at all. I imagine it could and that you you don't need any proxy whatsoever...

    Can anyone confirm this theory?

    Since the VPN encapsulates the protocols, you have no concern whatsoever about ports. Endeed machines on both sides of a VPN act as if they belonged to the same network. Just remember to open up the appropriate ports on the firewall (it _does_ filter packets passing through the VPN).

    In short: it works (and rocks :-)
