PPTP access problems

Hi,

I configured PPTP on a ASL 1.920. Actually I am working with 3 virtual private address ranges (one is the default + two additionals) because of filter rules.
The first 3 notebooks (W2K) we configured are working great (even with other asl users). But since then no additional working configuration.
Error description:
The user ID is verified and the correct virtual IP is distributed to the client, but then error 619 error connecting to port... appears (W2K).

hi peter,

please enable debug mode and watch the PPTP live log while connecting the faulty client. then post the output here.

Hi Tom,

sorry for posting to fast, as we analyzed the log we have seen that the problem is related to encryption capabilities of the client. The first three clients installed had the 128b encryption-patch installed, the further ones not.
What troubled us in searching the problem was that the authentication worked and we even got a virtual IP for a short time, even without the 128b!!!!!!

from the FAQ:

that behaviour is not nice, but "by-design", so we cannot really fix it [:)]
