After updating to 9.705-7, OTP Token creation broken

After updating to 9.705-7, the UTM does not automatically create the OTP Token when the user logs into the user portal.

We tried completely removing the user then letting them be readded on their first login to the portal (before adding them to the OTP user list). After the successful login, we added them to the OTP Users list in Authentication settings.  Auto-create OTP tokens for users IS checked.

Then, when the user tries to login to the portal they get the "Invalid username/password, or access denied by policy." message.  The User is not listed in the OTP tokens list.

We were able to get the new user going by manually creating an OTP token for them.

So, it looks like the "Auto-create OTP tokens for users" is broken.

  • I'd guess that the PostgreSQL database needs to be rebuilt, Britton, but you will want to open a case with Sophos Support.

  • Hi Britton

Please be so kind to keep us in the loop. I'm really excited about the outcome. Please open a case as Bob suggested if necessary.

(at) All: Anybody else seeing that issue? I have the OTP-config active with many customers and I'm a little afraid to fall into the same trap with an update of the boxes.

    Cheers, Janbo
