New Ethernet Interface reports error on UTM

Using 9.705-7

Trying to move away from a DSL connection on Eth1 to an Ethernet connection.

Even when I shut down the DSL line, I cannot configure a straight ethernet connection on Eth1 - just throws up an error on Save

Interface type requires exclusive access to the network interface

I have looked and cannot find anything in the current search specific to this exact query.

Anyone any ideas?

Hi Nick,

Do you also have a VLAN Interface defined on eth1?

Do you also have a VLAN Interface defined on eth1?

Shouldn't need to, have dual NICs so eth0 is Lan and eth1 should just be Ethernet or at least that is my understanding.

Hi Bob

Sorry about the delay - been away for a few days - screen shot below.

Now I know currently the External (WAN) is showinf UP and obviously on, however the same red error message is received, even if I toggle that 'off'. unplug the modem, and reboot my Sophos UTM so that the NIC card cannot possible detect anything present.

Yes, you'll need to delete the "Draytek" interface definition.
