a way to block adobe flash via endpoint protection?

Hallo,

is there a way to block adobe flash via endpoint protection?

Thanks

Ralf

  • not that i know of.  uninstall flash from the machines and then set a group policy that doesn't allow non-admins to install anything.  This could block other programs form updating though.

If you are thinking about the recent flash 0-day chrome was not vulnerable because they keep flash sandboxed and automatically updated faster than adobe updates their own stand-alone code..[:)]

  • Actually, Chrome is also vulnerable, but up to now the code isn't executed if the exploit kit detects Chrome.
I've set IE Flash Plugin to disabled and Chrome plugins to "click-to-play" via GPO.
On our Firefox installs Flash isn't installed anyway.
  • Chrome maybe vulnerable but the sandbox blocks it from doing anything so the code doesn't execute..so effectively it isn't.
