and....I'm stuck.

Had a UTM crash because of reoccuring powerouts a while back.
( and now...Yes, UPS in place, then = no )

So, after this, can not manage any client's endpoint setup by authenticating.
Using the current default = nope,
Changing the PW, rebooting the clients = nope

So,, anyone's got an idea how to get around this ?
( using home-license )

  • Did you try uninstalling the clients, removing them from UTM and re-installing the clients after changing the password for Endpoint?

  • Thanks for the reply....

So,, nope...that I haven't tried as that really do feel like the last resort.
True,, it's a home license here, but I can imagine having the same scenario at for instance, a customer site... having to reinstall because all clients because of a failed UTM ? That really should be a very last resort.

since they are tied to the UTM if said UTM fails you have an issue with authentication.  For larger environments if that happened they would have a system to simply push out the reinstallation to the clients via AD or something like that.  I would present this on the feature request section this is one for them to chew on..[:)]

  • Thanks again,

well, 1 - did a restore of the config...so that should have some purpose one would think.....

and, secondly, should be some kind of override of some sorts.
I mean, a complete re-install "just" because of an UTM failure ?

I wouldn't go with a solution like that to a large-scale install, regardless if they has MS's tools, zenworks or whatever. Very subjectively, feels like a deal-braker to me. NOT in my home use off course, that's 10m for a couple of PC's.

Idea with any central mgmt tool/console is to be able to "own" or have the ability to take over the config/install. This when it's one's own app.

Still, no worries and thanks for the answer, I know what to do right now anyway
