File Level Exclusions with Environmet Variables

Hi all,

So far my Googling has not found any positive answers to my question of whether or not I can use %Variables% to exclude files and paths. It looks as though this is not possible. Can someone please verify a yes or no? Can I exclude a folder path in this way:

%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

    ..and if so, what is the accept syntax in the exclusion?

If the answer is no, how am I to exclude this path for every individual in the organisation?

    Because outlook files should not be scanned. Scanning them can cause issues such as messages getting stuck in outboxes. So this is not possible? Are you saying you would have to do this a thousand times for your thousand users to be able to run an exchange environment to AV best practice recommendations?
