Possible to install only Endpoint Web Control?

In our Astaro 320 license, there are 5 installations of Endpoint Protection but we are interested only in the Endpoint Web Control because we need to enforce web filtering for roaming users that browse Internet outside our network with the same rules enforced on the UTM when at office.

The problem is that we are already covered on the clients for what regards endpoint protection using McAfee products and we cannot remove it because of company rules.

When I try to install the Endpoint Protection package that I obtain from my Astaro UTM web interface, under endpoint protection section, he complains that there are third party security products and it needs to uninstall them else installation fails.

So the question is: is there a way to install only the Endpoint Web Control component or is there a way to allow the two security solutions coexist (using only web control on Sophos side)?

Thanks

  • Hi, Ale1981, and welcome to the User BB!

If you were to uninstall McAfee and install Sophos, I think you'd find that McAfee would have the same behavior when trying to install it over Sophos.

I would think your company would also prefer to use the Sophos Endpoint product for AV on laptops.  MIT moved to it from McAfee this year.  Read the Sophos reviews at SpiceWorks.
