Endpoint deployment

Hi Guys,

Need your help and and verify regarding UTM Endpoint deployment, below are question that ask by customer which need some advice since I have never deploy UTM Endpoint. Thanks

Deployment:
Install UTM Endpoint at branch local PC.

Question:
1. Can Endpoint update direct from UTM on internal network?
2. Can Endpoint update/find to UTM on bridge mode deployment?

Hi. The Sophos Endpoint downloads definitions directly from the Internet. Also it requires the internet connection for communication with the Sophos broker in the cloud where UTM connects to to manage the endpoints.

Using a UTM you can of course filter all internet traffic and allow only definition updates if desired. Also the UTM may act as definition cache for multiple endpoints if you have the web protection subscription.

Thanks for the reply my concern right now is Sophos UTM is running behind another firewall.
What port I need to allowed for the registration process and updating beside 443 to manage the endpoint using Sophos UTM?. Thanks

Both 80 and 443 are used for the classic Endpoint, so I would use both because the complete Endpoint package will befcome a part of UTM.
