Client Firewall

Hi,

we like to use the endpoint protection from UTM 9 also for our mobile devices. That means the mobile devices are also connected to the normal internet e.g. if it used by WLAN in an hotel. So there's a need for a client firewall.
In the normal Endpoint Protection offered from Sophos this Client Firewall is included.
Is it possible to use the Client Firewall also for the UTM Entpoint Protection and if yes how can I do this ? The install packages does not include the firewall.

    Hi,
    sure I can use the OS firewall, but the configuration possibilities are bad and the safety is disputable.
    So I can also ask there's the need of Endpoint AntiVirus if I can use the OS AntiVirus. [;)]

    The question is still open if it's possible to use the Sophos Client Firewall.

    No, they haven't integrated that option yet.  The big push was for Device Control and client anti-virus.

    Actually, Firewall as in the Traditional allow and deny application internet access, personally the way I see what is in Windows 7 seems seriously so advance.

    In Fact, Trend Micro and Symantec seems to "ride" on Windows 7 Firewall and the software simply manage it for the user.

    What I am more concern with is SOPHOS to include Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (Both attacks from Network (example malicious traffic spreading via LAN or when a laptop is directly connected to internet) and on the Host itself (Malware exploiting vulnerabilities)
