Traffic Shape on RED

The RED is set to Standard/Split

I have VoIP phones connected to the RED device and they connect to a PBX on the internet. How can I apply shaping to these phones WITHOUT running all traffic through the UTM first?

I don't believe that this is possible even with a RED 50.

You might consider replacing the RED with an SG105 with a Network Security subscription. You could either configure a RED tunnel between the two UTMs or go with a classic IPsec site-to-site.

Hello,

the pbx is NOT on your main/hq, but in the internet, is this correct? Is your regular www-/internettraffic routed via the local router in your branch office or via utm/sg in the hq?

Yes, it is out on the internet. Yes, internet traffic is routed via the RED in the branch office.

Without routing the traffic through a UTM, you won't be able to apply QoS/shape the traffic, as the RED itself doesn't have that capability. A RED is just a VPN Client and routing table.

When the VoIP-Traffic leaves your branch office via regular router/gateway (NOT thru the sophos/red tunnel), then you have to set QoS on your default gateway (e.g. CISCO or s.t.).
