Switched to a New ISP

We recently switched to a New ISP.

We had to provide our own Edge Router and our ISP gave us a transit /30 address.

We were also assigned Public IP addresses /29. total of 5 usable IP addresses.

I finally got the hardware configured a Ubiquity EdgeRouter PRO. the /30 address on eth0 and the /29 address on Eth1 which is connected to Eth1 on the Sophos UTM.

We have 3 private networks configured in our Sophos UTM. Firmware Version 9.506.

network 1 = office Network

network 2 = production network

network 3 = wifi network

Here is my issue.

If I run an internet speed test from my office network or the production network I get Download Speed of 47 Mbs, Upload Speed of 5 Mbs.

If I run an internet speed test from within the edge router bypassing the Sophos UTM I get Download Speed of 47 Mbs, Uplad Speed of 47 Mbs.

We should have a 50 x 50 Internet connection from our ISP.

I don't know if the SOPHOS is limiting the Upload Traffic?

  • I'd check your speed & duplex settings between the router and the UTM. I actually had a case like this a few weeks ago and the router was defaulting to half duplex.

After that, it's a case of looking at your interfaces and QoS to see if there is anything there.
