Hi,

why is the Maximum upload bandwidth not working? download shapes to 30Mbit as expected. but upload bandwidth jumps between 65-95Mbit if i do a speedtest on the internet. WHY?

check my Screens.

  • Hey, Daniel.

Are you using web protection on this network?

    Regards,

    Gioovani

  • Hi Gioovani,

no web-protection, no IPS, no funny tech.
just a straight masquerading over the WAN IP and a simple Firewall rule from Interspr_LAN to Internet, Service any.
everything works as it should, download limited as expected. but no restriction on the upload, this i don't understand.

  • It's not clear to me to which interface you are applying the bandwidth pool. I take it you are applying it to external interface. Does it make any difference if you replace "Any" on your traffic selector with "Internet"?

    Giovani

  • thx for your help. i managed to get it working by adding another pool to the WAN Interface (which now restricts the upload).
before, i had the pool applied only on the internal Interface (which btw works bidirectional on all my other bandwidth pooled Networks).
Both together (Download Pool on the internal, Upload Pool on the WAN Interface) now work as should!
I guess the difference to my other bandwidth pooled Networks is, this specific Network is multipath ruled to our second WAN Interface. Looks like that changes the way QoS Needs to be configured.
