Skype for Business connection issue

I have a problem specifically with Skype for Business, but may be related to another issue I'm having using the VMWare Horizon client, so I'll list that as well.


Skype for Business issue:

I use Office Webmail to connect to my work infrastructure, and I had always had an issue with the web based skype component of the webmail service (should note this is all office 2015/16). Essentially the skype part of webmail would log out and then back in everything half a minute or so. Because I mainly used it for IM, this was an annoyance but I lived with it.

I've now installed the actual Skype for Business client and exactly the same thing is happening. I can sign in fine, then about 10 seconds later the client signs out again on loop? Any IM's sent during that time fail to send (but I can receive).

With my VMware Horizon issue, we use 2FA to sign in, I can get past that without issue but it fails to make the final connecting to the remote desktop and errors out. This all sounds like firewall rules to be, but I have tested with IPS off and a minimal services turn on and nothing is appearing in the logs.

Any idea on where to start troubleshooting?
