New MS patchday possible exploits not covered by UTM IPS albeit these are online at Talos already for many days?

Hi,

maybe I am blind but

https://lists.astaro.com/ASGV9-IPS-rules.html

does still not show these: 43155-43166, 43169-43176

http://blog.talosintelligence.com/2017/06/ms-tuesday.html

Why is that?

Thanks

Joerg

  • Jeorg, I remember the day in May 2010 when I spent most of my son's graduation from UC-Boulder on my phone talking with clients across the USA,  Astaro had pushed a Snort rule without adequately vetting it.  Since then, Sophos has done an excellent job of vetting and repairing Snort patterns given to them before they update our UTMs with them.  Are they too slow on this group?  I don't know.  If a client has a problem that could have been prevented by one of those Snort patterns, then probably.

    Cheers - Bob
