SG 230 Slow download speed when IPS is active

Hi,

I have just setup and installed a SG 230,

I have a 400/400 mbps fibre link

with only IPS active I can only get 280 down and 380 up. 

When I turn it off i get the full 380ish/380ish up/down

 

Can anyone explain why this happens?

    Hi, Adir, and welcome to the UTM Community!

    Tuning your rules can help a bit, but the problem is that your speed-measuring tool is single-threaded as is Snort. See also Sascha Paris' excellent UTM Tweaking Guide 2.0 at the top of the General Discussion forum.

    The 230 should be enough to fill your pipe with IPS enabled, but not with a single user.
