Hello,

I am trying to setup an RDP connection to my PC at home.

I tried a lot of solutions over the sophos forum (Firewall rules + DNAT), but (as you guess) to no avail, all the solutions that were offered did not comply with my setup (which is an extremely {i hope} simple one).

I have a bridged modem, which is connected to my sophos on the WAN leg, then i have the LAN leg connected to a non-managed switch (tp-link),

the rest of the devices are connected to my switch as well.

should note, that i run sophos as a virtual machine in ESXi, I have established a steady internet connection and can connect to the sophos webAdmin from the outside (I also established that the computer that i am trying to connect is alive via logs from the firewall)

i tried to place as much information as possible

thank you in advance.

Shlomi

  • looks good. can't see any mistakes.

activate "Log initial packets" within NAT Rule.

So you can see the packet hit the firewall (within FW livelog).

the second masquerading rule is useless.

(masc packets from internet if leaving WAN-interface)

try to replace from "internet" with "any" within RDP NAT rule.
