Plex Media Server not working with DNAT

Howdy folks. I have read a few other posts on folks configuring a DNAT for a Plex Media Server behind UTM. I've tried and beat my head against this, but it simply isn't forwarding traffic. What gives!!?!?!

I have a network object defined for my Plex host, bound to the internal interface:

I have a service object defined for the Plex TCP port:

Last but not least, the DNAT configuration shows:

From: ANY

Service: Custom Plex service object

To: External (Address)

Change destination to: Custom Plex network host object

Change service to: Custom Plex service object

Create automatic firewall rule: Yes

  • Can you post a screenshot of your plex remote access screen, with advanced turned on?  You should probably obscure your IP before posting though.  You need to manually assign a port of 32400 (I would use a difference port and forward the new port to PMS on port 32400.

  • I previously had Plex opened up to the world through my Juniper SSG 5, so I know the Remote config in Plex is right... I've only been using UTM for a week.

I'm an absolute idiot. The friggin' Plex service wasn't running on my Plex Media Server. There was nothing wrong with the UTM config.
