Now that I have created throttling rules for various sites, how do I monitor what traffic is being throttled?
I am running reports that show bandwidth hogs at the company, many of which are not listed in Application Control. Sites like mlb.com, theplatform.com and others. Now when I dig deep enough I see that they rid on flash and akamaihd.net, which are listed in Application Control. However, I would like to know for sure that they are being caught by the QOS rules. Sophos UTM does not appear to have a real-time traffic monitor that shows a breakdown of traffic by rule. A competing product I have used has a nice visual monitor that show every session and the rule being applied.
The Application Control screen is nice for finding what is actively hogging bandwidth, but doesn't show if any existing rules are being applied. It also does a pretty louse job of showing "who" is doing what. Way too often I get "no data available" in the table.
