[QoS] Limit utilization of WAN Uplink

Hello

we are having issues with an ISP that drops packets if the WAN uplink is overutilized.

To prevent this we would like to limit the maximum usage of Uplink interface to 90% of the bandwidth of the ISP line.

It seems I did not understand the QoS configuration correctly, as the following is not working:

I am not sure when which interface needs to be activated on the status tab as well as to which interface rules have to be bound

The user guide and how tos are a big vague on the whole QoS topic

Any help appreciated :)

    sorry for late reply. I was checking with the guys on site to see if lowering the limit would make us see it working

    The above screenshot was taken while the limit was set to 7000kbit/s.

    If I do the math right 7000kbit/s < 9.2 Mbit right? ;)

    So somehow it is not working.

    For testing purposes I set it to 7 kbits (to see if the UI is just wrong and it should be KB/s, which it isn't and kicked me into a whole lot of other fun with CC ;))

    so somehow it is not limited to 7000kbit/s as it should be

  • On the 'Status' tab, do you see that the 'Limit Uplink' box is checked when you edit the WAN interface?
