UTM appliance and DNS requests

I'm having some oddities with a UTM appliance that's on the most recent version of software.  At random, clients will act like they're being blocked from DNS access.  I've tried using another DNS server, tried using my internal server, nothing works.. yet i can ping, hit sites by ip, etc just fine.  Only DNS being affected.  Then, If I reboot the UTM, it's fine for a while.. then fluctuates..  I don't have any firewall rules preventing port 53, and even went as far as taking one of the computers and allowing all outbound for it but still nothing.  If I connect to the Comcast modem directly, my DNS works fine and can surf just fine.  Tried pings and surfs for about 6 hours straight and worked fine.  I can also ping to outside DNS providers as well, but something with port 53 it does not like at random times..


Anyone run into this before?  Thought I would ask here before opening a support ticket...
