Splitting my network

Hi guys

My network setup is as the following : My LAN is 192.168.0.X/24 connected to switch, My WAN is static IP SGN router of private address 192.168.0.100/24 (same subnet of LAN) connected to switch, My SG330 has eth0 of IP 192.168.0.1/24 connected to switch for webfiltering as a proxy, a local PC can get access to internet through proxy.

I want to split my network to make my SG the edge between my LAN and SGN router, but i cannot change either the IP's of my LAN or router. so can i configure two interfaces on my SG, eth0 for LAN of IP 192.168.0.1/24 connected to switch, eth1 for WAN of IP 192.168.0.90 connected directly to SGN router, create a firewall rule to allow traffic from LAN to WAN , and create a masquerading rule from LAN to WAN.

I know this is weird setup but will it work???

  • Hi Bob

    Thanx for the greeting.

I have a web filter subscription, the purpose of the SG is web filtering, the hostname is unique and resolvable.

The setup i have now is that the SG is a web filter proxy, so some of my LAN users bypass the SG using ultrasurf extension on chrome, eventhough all proxy programs are disabled on application control, so i had an idea to split my network into two halves LAN and WAN and make the SG the edge so that no user can bypass th filter.

so the question is how can i prevent my local users using ultrasurf extensions from bypassing my web filter ??

    Many thanx
