Traffic being blocked/filtered but no logging to troubleshoot

Hi Everyone,

We seem to have an issue with our sophos dropping packets without giving any logs as to why. Below is what I sent to sophos when logged the call but hoping someone here might of seen it before for a speedier resolution as they have had a look without finding anything obvious and now waiting to been escalated

Thanks,

Allan

Good Afternoon,

We have having a few issues with our Sophos setup when traffic is crossing subnets,

We currently have 2 internal subnets and when traffic passes from one to another its not working correctly. one example of this would be some of our printers have admin pages and when view from pc on same subnet everything loads fine but when on 2nd subnet the menu won't load correctly. We have found a work around by adding the printer Skip Transparent Mode Destination Hosts/Nets but we would like to know how we can stop these issue from arising and we can't find anything in the logs like dropped packets to investigate ourselves

  • Hi, Allan, and welcome to the UTM Community!

You're looking in the wrong log file.  Try Web Filtering.

In general, I normally configure so that local devices can inter-communicate without passing through any proxy.

    Cheers - Bob

PS I was tempted to move this thread to the Web Protection forum, but there will be others that think their answer will be in this forum.
