Isolating my SmartTV

I have a Samsung SmartTV connected via a Wifi connection to my UTM and I am concerned about potential compromises bridging through the TV to my other internal computers.  Is there any guidance or recommendations on how to isolate the network traffic between the SmartTV and the internet so anything that compromises the SmartTV can't hop around inside my network to other computers?  Keep in mind that all my systems are using Wifi and a non-routing AP so I am hoping the UTM can apply some boundaries in the routing it's doing...

  • Hi dscoduc,

Does your AP give you the option for "client isolation" or something similar? Depending on which AP you have you may either choose this which will ensure that none of the devices can talk to each other even if connected via the same AP. Alternatively, can you create a VLAN and a second SSID? There are potentially a number of options but all of those will depend on what AP you have. Can you provide the brand and model that you are using?
