Hi,

We must allow some of our user to access our internal net with RDgateway from home from thier own machine. I know this no no but we are thinking about it.

Does the Sophos has an option that controle the user PC or MAC for anti virus or security patches before allowing the access to internal resources?

No, there isn't. The new XG firewall has a similar feature called heartbeat, but only in conjunction with a corporate Sophos AV.
