I need to open ports 9000-9099 UDP For our Voip phones to send and receive audio. I have found that if I open more than 40 ports in that range my audio between the voip phone and a caller doesn't work in either direction, there is no audio at all. If I only open say 9000-9030 it works perfectly but if I go any higher it breaks.
If I call our facility with our Voip test line the initial welcome message "Press 1 for customer service, etc" also cuts in and out.
I have tried creating my own firewall rule and have tried using a NAT policy to create it, but no matter what the audio drops.
I have called Sophos Tech Support and they spent an hour trying to figure this out and couldn't , when logging into the Shell using Putty we can see that there is no packet loss, I've also disabled IPS and ATP but it doesn't make a difference. Please note I also have our Phone network on its own interface isolated from any other traffic.
It is also a sporadic issue. 3 days will go by with everything working correctly then on the 4th day I will have no audio and like clockwork I can adjust the amount of ports up or down to correct the audio or break the audio. Then the next day if I fiddle with it it will start working again for a few days.
Any suggestions / things I could try or do you think it is a bug?
