Prevent one client from using all bandwidth

I recently downgraded to 2/1 Internet. I wouldn't mind a single device using all of that, unless there is another device trying to do something.

i.e. phone can download updates at full speed but only if PC isn't trying to web surf - in that case they must share

  • Unfortunately, there are no good solutions to limiting downloads only when someone else wants to browse.  All you can do is limit the device that causes problems, or the specific traffic.  That will take a bit of trial and error.  And, yes, QoS won't know what to do if it doesn't know what your bandwidth is.
