Server Behind Interface

I have a direct line from a computer to an interface on the Sophos UTM. I enabled the interface and gave it an ip of 192.168.20.1 / 21 . I gave the computer an address of 192.168.20.2 / 21 . 

For some reason the UTM can't ping the computer. I enabled rules in the firewall to allow all traffic between our network and the computer yet still can't ping in any direction between the UTM and the computer on the .20 interface. There is nothing in the firewall log for 192.168.20.2.

Any ideas on what I might be missing?

    Why a /21 subnet?  Do you have any other subnets defined in the range 192.168.16.0 - 192.168.23.255?  Pinging is regulated on the 'ICMP' tab of 'Firewall'.

    Good point BALfson there's no reason I can't tighten up the subnet mask. 255.255.255.248 should give me 4 usable ips to work with. The other NIC on the computer is running on .16.2, so I suppose this would create an issue, yet even after changing the mask I still can't ping the computer. Pinging is enabled on the ICMP tab. Pinging isn't the only issue, I'm not able to see the computer at all, pinging is just my attempt to see if the changes I am making are working.
