Newbie - Help Basic Question - Bypass Firewall

Hello,

I am a super-NEEEWbie.  Need your help.  I want to haver some of my devices completely bypass the firewall and all protection.  If I can do it by their mac addresses that would be awesome.  Otherwise I can give them static IP addresses.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for helping someone just starting out...

Rob

  • Hi, Rob, and welcome to the User BB!

I'm not sure what you're asking.  What kinds of devices?  It's possible to bypass some things, but you can't really bypass everything.  It is possible to make Firewall rules that apply only to a group of MAC addresses.

    Cheers - Bob

  • You can easily make a group of host objects with MAC addresses and make a single "allow all" FW rule at the top of the hierarchical ACL list. If you are using web protection with SSL inspection, you can still do it, but you need to make more changes in more places.

    Still doable.
