Sophos Authentication Agent

Hi,

we are currently migrating from Microsoft TMGs to UTM.
With TMG we are using the TMG Firewall Client to setup user based
authentication.

With UTM we need to setup Firewallrules with user/groups based authentication,too.
Is there any possibility to do this with sophos authentication agent "SAA",
when the default gateway for the clients is NOT the UTM?
Our Clients are in a othter VLAN then the UTM is.

    Yes, this is theoretically possible, but ...!

    The UTM has some strengths that the TMG did not, and there are some things that TMG does that UTM doesn't do.  With both devices, you can accomplish your tasks, but seldom is it advisable to do things in the same way.  Although the UTM is incredibly easy to maintain once it has been configured "correctly," someone with little experience with WebAdmin will make poor design choices.  I make more money fixing a poorly-designed installation than I make creating the initial configuration.  In der Ecke, I'm sure you can find someone with solid experience in configuring the Sophos UTM.
