Proxy

Hi,
I am New to sophos.
I needed to configure sophos as proxy only.
Where lan interface will intercept all the request and browsing does happen this way.Where client browser needed to make necessary settings in their browser.

With my limited knowledge on proxy,can you guide me if how this to be configured.
Also will I be able to run web protection etc. using this.
running 9.310-11 in 210 box.

    Hi, Sushil, and welcome to the User BB!

    What is your network topology?  Is the UTM bridged in front of a router, sitting in your LAN with a single cable attached or at the edge with both a private and public IP?

    Thanks for your response.

    Device is at edge and plugged between public and private network.
    So all looks good once masquerading or natting the internal network.
    Hence traffic from internal say 192.168.1.0 is working well.

    Now need arises where one of my remote mpls network (192.168.2.0) terminating/communicating with HO switch and somehow can't move that one of the interface to sophos at all.Else require to make loads of changes in mpls topology.But that remote network needs to access internet from my hub location and it is not possible until make 192.168.2.0 network to use proxy address at HO location internal int say 192.168.1.1.Tested it with other few UTM and it works well.

    So in nutshell it will be combination of one network working completely as stateful and other as proxy.

    Hi Bob,
    Just gone further into docs and user forums here.Please correct me if I am thinking it wrong;
    1. Under web protection>web filter profile create a filter action.
    2. Create webfilter profile>under allowed networks the network (192.168.2.0/24) and operation mode as standard followed by policy create above on filter action.
    3.Cross check if under filtering options>misc web filtering port 8080 is configured.

    Haven't tested it yet,but looks if it may work.
    Your expert opinion about it.
