I am New to sophos hence need expert opinion.
We have a linux based mail server running in DMZ.With public IP say 122.180.10.30.MX pointed toward this server and all works works well where a proxy based solution was working at gateway.
Bought 230 box and facing a strange problem.
Created SNAT and DNAT correctly and all works well.
Now need arises that internal network should be able to access mail server via public IP on pop and smtp i.e 122.180.10.30.
So internal to DMZ rule disabled and getting the correct behaviour.
But once we telnet from internal network i.e 192.168.1.0/24 to public IP and ports does respond except 25 and 587.
telnet 122.180.10.30 fails.
From out of the network if we do the same it allows access.
Changed it with two other devices that is of cisco ASA and fortigate,but it allowed telnet access fine with above as well.
So question now arises is that why sophos doesn't allow telnet on port 25 on public ip from internal network while other devices does.
