Hi

I have one of these which provides dual band wifi with a range 192.168.2.0/24,
this is unchangeable.

The ethernet connection on the unit is connected to the internal network, 192.168.1./24
where it has an ip address of 192.168.1.99.

The F9K1107 internal firewall is disabled.

A specifi firewall rule from the device ( 192.168.1.99) to the internal network doesnt work, and I fail to see why it should be needed anyway.

Pinging a host  by name on a computer connected to the wifi side ( 192.168.2.0/24) results in success,
as does accessing for exampl via ssh to a server on the same network.

Access the internet also is successful

However  access to any bonjour service (printer) or afp (file share, time machine) on the internal network fails.

Anybody got any clues as to why this should be?

    Hi,

    iirc, bonjour does not work well (or at all) across multiple networks.

    I'd recommend flattening your network; turn the WiFi router into an AP (disable DHCP and NAT on it), and only use the 192.168.1.x network.

    for this particular device I think I am up the creek
    as while I can change the dhcp, i cannot change the lan ip addresses, it says you can
    but on reboot back to 192.168.2.0/24

    not sure what would happen if I changed the internal 192.168.1.0/24 to 2.0/24., may
    be a possibility

    Nat is not accessible.

    It was useful to use it as a poc re 5g, but in all probability I will have to invest in a proper 5g ap.

    Shame really as everything else worked fine, but the bonjour is required for the apple laptop user.
