Hi All,
I am new to the forum, so please ignore any "wrong doings" on my behalf.
I have been using astaro for about 4 or 5 years and have installed on several customers sites without issue. I find it very easy to setup alot of quite fancy stuff and much easier than creating the firewall & proxy configs by hand (as i used to do in the 00's)
I have a customer / friend who started having issues when they got a new VOIP phone system a few months back. The PBX system is a hosted solution, only handsets on site.
The problem is that when the phones ring, the handset is picked up, but the phone still keeps ringing for 4 or 5 seconds before it answers.
Once the call is answered, audio is good, no real problem, no lag, but occasional dropsout (i have only been on-site a few times to experience it first hand - otherwise i am relying on their explainations).
I don't think Bandwidth should be a problem as they only have emails using the internet (no web browsing for most employees during BH), and not big ones, just notification emails and such 99% of the time. and they have 20mb/s down & 1mb/s upload speed with only 4 handsets. average internet data usage 10g/month.
I have changed out the firewall for a standard modem and the Phones work great, lift the handset and it answers. so its not related to the provider or the internet connection.
I have looked through all the logs i could find and have not seen anything that shows any of the handset IPs or the PBX IP.
I have tried lots of things to work out what could be wrong and have tried QOS and setting up the SIP "proxy" and read every article i could find on the topic, but im still not finding a solution to this problem.
has anyone experienced this before ? can you suggest anything ?
greatly appreciate any help with this.
