Hi all,
I'm having a real blank moment, perhaps ive pushed too many hours but configuring a UTM and something so simple I cant get my head around it.
Basically im replacing a Draytek 2960 router that has 2 wan ports.
Wan 1 is for the internet which sits behind a Cisco router and the router passes all traffic through (but does the connection to the ISP) so the interface on the Draytek is set to NAT mode and has a public internet IP address.
Wan 2 is part of an MPLS which sits behind another Cisco router but this router actually does routing and it outside of our access/control. This on the Draytek is set to Routing mode
All the users on the internal network need access to both, wan 1 for internet and email server going out on and wan 2 for bespoke services sat in HQ.
I will use policy routing to direct the traffic as required because none of it should be multipathed.
My question is though how do I set the two WAN interfaces to correctly either NAT or Route to their given Cisco router? Ive setup static routes
WAN2 interface (10.39.224.252) -> Cisco IP address (10.39.224.254)
WAN1 interface (Public IP, same as the Draytek 2960 was) -> Cisco IP address (another public IP address)
Is that it? I don't know why I cant picture this but I feel like im missing something so obvious as Ive not told the UTM about NAT or Routing mode.
Btw - The cisco routers are already set with the correct routing tables, etc as this UTM is simply replacing the Draytek 2960.
Im doing a trial run switch over on Sunday to see how it goes. Any thoughts on this would be great.
Thank you in advance
