There was an error synchronizing subscribed groups

I am trying to resolve an issue which comes coming up on a newly purchased Sophos SG310 UTM HA pair.

There was an error synchronizing subscribed groups. The Sophos UTM will
continue to operate with a locally cached copy of the data but will be
unable to update from Directory Services until the issue is resolved.

Error was:
failed to run samba command on DOMAIN.COM, exiting now

Please refer to the manual for detailed instructions.




I have updated the information in "Definition & Users" > "Authentication Services" > "Advanced"
Active Directory Group Membership Synchrinization is enabled
Prefetch directory users is enabled using OUs with users inside

Prefetch now works and detects users but the ad sync still comes up with the above error.

Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi, and welcome to the User BB!

    From your description, I assume that this is a new installation and that this never has worked for you.  Let's look at the log.  Start the Prefetch Live Log, start Prefetch and post the lines from a single session.

    Hi BAlfson,

    I have now been able to resolve the issue, it was indeed a new installation and it had not worked since the Sophos UTMs were deployed.
