Can not ping from outsite to Astaro firewall

Hello all,

Now I am installing and using Astaro gateway 8.313 version, I can not ping from outside to this firewall otherwise I can ping to IP WAN of Modem ADSL which is standing in front of the firewall. of course, I have enabled all of options on ICMP tab. Please help me this problem.

    If you replace the ASG with a regular PC, can you ping that?

    What IP does the WAN interface of your UTM get?

    Sophos user, admin and reseller.
    Private Setup:

    • XG: HPE DL20 Gen9 (Core i3-7300, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD) | XG 18.0 (Home License) with: Web Protection, Site-to-Site-VPN (IPSec, RED-Tunnel), Remote Access (SSL, HTML5)
    • UTM: 2 vCPUs, 2GB RAM, 50GB vHDD, 2 vNICs on vServer (KVM) | UTM 9.7 (Home License) with: Email Protection, Webserver Protection, RED-Tunnel (server)

    I wanted to see if the ping might be blocked by the modem.  You also could do a packet capture on the interface to be certain that the pings are not arriving at the UTM.

    Hi,

    I've recently found that I also can not ping to the external interface of Astaro from Modem ADSL (from Modem ping to Astaro Gateway) and in local network can not tracert to outside networks (but ping is ok), while I can do browsing websites, sending emails... in my local network.
    PS: My adsl line consists of range IP address.
