Masquerading vs SNAT?

Hi
I have been using Masquerading for allowing my internet users on the web get access to the internet, then using firewall rules to allow access.

Is there any advantage to Masquerading over just making a SNAT that looks like  (LAN network -> any -> Internet IP4)? It sounds like that's all a masquerade is.
