To publish private server address to internet

Hi All,

I am new here.well i will tell my scenario here. but i don't know this is the right place or not.

i am having Sophos UTM 9.

We are having a server in our Lan.users using that server software through web browser with private ip address. i want to publish that address to over internet. means i want to allow users to work from home or anywhere.we are having one ISP . can i use same Internet link for both internet purpose and this publishing purpose ? i dont have public ip address too ?? because i am in hurry now that one user need it from outside.

What is the best possible way to achieve this ??

    Are you saying that you only have one public IP address?  It would be better to have an Additional Address named, for example, "Web Server" to use in NAT rules.

    To publish, create a NAT rule :

    DNAT : Internet -> HTTP -> External [Web Server] (Address) : to {internal server IP}

    I am somewhat confused by this question also.

    If you have no public ip address (I know some ISPs that do this to their customers) you could conceivably use something like LogMeIn Pro to connect a remote machine using LogMeIn Pro's remote desktop to your LAN.

    LogMeIn installs a client onto the machine which you mean to connect with and that client than logs into their servers.  If you log in remotely, all traffic gets routed through their servers (encrypted of coarse), unless a direct connection to your target machine can be made directly, which is only done after initializing the connection through LogMeIn's servers first.

    This is not nearly as good as just using a VPN on your UTM, which is a much better and direct approach.  If you have at least one public ip, I would just setup a VPN to have your employees connect to your internal server.  This way, all of the traffic would be encrypted, which with the current state of the internet and nation-state spying is a very good thing.
