I have a UTM with 9.201-23 running on it. I also have an Ooma home telephone service.
Here is my current setup:
Internet -> Cable Modem -> Sophos UTM eth2
Sophos UTM eth0 -> LAN (192.168.0.X/24)
Sophos UTM eth1 -> Ooma (192.168.1.X/24)
I've gone through the Ooma guide and created all of the service definitions specifying the destination port/range with a source of 1:65535 (and I've verified UDP vs TCP on each service to ensure I didn't mix up something). I then placed all of those new service definitions into a service group.
With that new service group, i created a firewall rule stating:
Ooma Interface Network, using the Ooma Service Group, is allowed to access Any
I ensured the network is specified in the Masquerade rule as well.
Now, the service connects. I can make and receive calls. But after a random time between 2 and 32 minutes the call goes to one way audio (I can hear the caller, they cannot hear me) and then the call drops. Once the call drops the Ooma goes in "error" mode (the light on the unit starts blinking red) and I have to restart the unit by pulling power and having it reset for it to start working again.
I don't see anything out of the norm in the firewall logs so I think i've got everything, it is just very frustrating that this does work if I put the Ooma in front of the UTM...but the Ooma doesn't have a passthrough option and therefore I lose a lot of my functionality with the UTM natively.
Any thoughts?
