Default Installation and Question about LAN Default Rules

Hello,

Just about to complete the installation and configuration of Astaro and am curious if there are any pre-installed rules that would impair local LAN to LAN traffic on the same subnet.  I ask because I'm having difficulty with a few machines being able to find my HP network printer that is on the same subnet.  So I'm curious if Astaro has any predefined rules that would prevent any LAN to LAN traffic.

I didn't see anything under Network Protection -> Firewall that would indicate it was blocked but thought I would double check since I couldn't find any documentation.  It may be just a matter of adding a new rule of:

Source -> Internet Network , Services -> Any, Destination -> Internal Network but before I did that I wanted to check.

Thanks

  • if you aren't crossing the utm then no..nothing needs to be changed.  if you cross interfaces or subnets that require a trip through the UTM then you would need to add the appropriate rule in the firewall.
