Can anyone tell me if there is a way to do the following?
I have an external device outside of my network (e.g. my cell phone) which uses a dynamic IP address. I would like to create a firewall rule to allow access to certain ports on my network without requiring a VPN. The reason I don't want to use VPN is that for some odd reason, my cell phone doesn't get text messages (specifically picture messages) while I'm connected to VPN. I need to have constant connection to my network and still receive those messages.
I was thinking that if I could set up some kind of updating from my cell phone for dynamic dns or another such service and if there were a way to create a Host network definition in Sophos (or something equivalent) that would identify that dynamic IP as my cell phone, I could then create the firewall rules to allow access to those ports I need on my network. But I can't figure out how to do this in Sophos.
Can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so how to do it?
Thanks in advance,
Jonathan
