QoS Bandwidth across multiple VLANS

Hi, I hope someone can help.

I have 3 VLANs onboard (Guest, Office, Crew) I would like a way of prioritising the amount of internet traffic each gets. I.e. if the guest VLAN is being used it uses up the majority of the VSAT bandwidth, but if its not being used then the other networks get ramped back up.

    Hi, ETO, and welcome to the User BB!

    With the UTM, you can use Bandwidth Pools to favor traffic leaving an interface and Download Throttling Rules to limit traffic arriving at an interface.  Depending on the problem you're having, your best bet may be simply selecting 'Download Equalizer' and 'Upload Optimizer' for the interfaces on the 'Status' tab.

    If your VSAT ISP's router offers it, you should select 'Explicit Congestion Notification' on the 'Advanced' tab.

    Thank you for the response, I had a few hours on watch last night to have a good look at the system. I think I got the Download Throttling to work.
    Just to double check I'm on the right track with these settings:

    Traffic Selectors
    Any  → Any  → CREW (Network) 

    Download Throttling
    Bound to interface: VSAT
    Traffic Selector as above.
    Limit: ***

    If i get another opportunity to take a look I'd prefer to set it to a pool based equivalent, if you have any tips to speed me on my way it would me much appreciated.

    For the Bandwidth Pool, where you want to favor the Guests, on the VSAT interface, I would guarantee 90% of the available uplink bandwidth for 'GUEST (Network) -> Any -> Any'.  Delete any Bandwidth Pool related to the Crew.

    For Download Throttling, your original traffic selector, 'Any → Any → CREW (Network)', is correct, but I would be careful about setting a low limit.

    I have a follow up question: Is it possible to send traffic from the VLANs to different sources, i.e. Guest > 3G and Crew > VSAT?

    Im looking through the Multipath rules but im still a little confused over the difference between Source and Destination.

    Hi, yes Multipath rules can do that.

    Source would be each VLAN NETWORK.

    If you are hosting servers, you'd need to use DNS (or DYN DNS) to force incoming traffic into the right connection.
