Availability Group Question

I'm interested in setting up simple load balancing to a group of RDS servers.  Availability Groups looks like a possible option to do this through the Sophos UTM.  Does this group type do a simple round robin or does it (as the documentation suggests) only send traffic to the highest online target in the hosts list?
