I'm tinkering with QOS on a UTM320 (v9.1) and want to make sure my logic is ... er ... logical.
We have a 20mbs WAN connection, our LAN and a Guest network. I want to limit the guest network to 2mbs (up or down) so their internet use doesn't drag on our staff.
I think I need to enable QOS on the WAN interface, setting it for a max up/down of 20480kbps, create a couple of Traffic selectors (one going to the guest wifi, the other from it), then make a bandwidth pool including the two selectors, with an upper limit of 2048kbps. I can't use just Throttling because I want to control up and down traffic.
Does that make sense?
I saw some examples where people set this up on their Guest Interface, but I'm not sure how that would help since the traffic is still getting into the UTM from the WAN and would not get dropped until it got to the Guest interface. Or should I set it identical on both? Or inbound on the WAN and outbound on the Guest interfaces?
