IPS - how to?

Hi,

I am trying to tune the IPS settings, but i have difficulty understanding the exception pane.

What is the best practice here - and is my setup correct?

The other panes under IPS are configured and fine-tuned, s that only servers and services that i use is configured.

    Hi,

    I use the exceptions page for two things:
    1. disable flood & port scan detection for certain systems Outgoing (systems used for network monitoring, etc.)

    2. sometimes I put exceptions for traffic From my LAN To my DMZ due to performance problems (slow CPU).

    If that is what you are trying to achieve, then your LAN->DMZ settings look fine.

    However, I do not see the reasoning behind your first exception.
