Firewall blocking netbios (udp/137)

The top of the list by source of packets being dropped by the firewall is netbios (udp/137) packets from my wireless AP. There are on the order of 4000 - 5000 packets being dropped per day. I'd like to find out what is causing these packets to be dropped, whether there is actually a problem or a rule that is incorrect. 

Has anyone encountered this or does anyone have a suggestion how to determine what is causing it?

    Hi, they're broadcasts from the AP, and can be ignored.

    If they are still bothering you, you can:

    a. try to disable netbios on the AP.

    or

    b. create a firewall rule to delete traffic to your LAN interface BROADCAST address, and drop without logging

    Thanks for the reply.

    I can't see any any obvious reason why the AP (Netgear WNDR3700v2) is broadcasting the packets. I thought it might be due to the DLNA service, but it's not enabled, because I don't use it. I posted on the Netgear forum but haven't received any reply. I can't see way to disable the broadcasts of these packets.

    Is there a way to configure the firewall to simply ignore the packets?
