Recommended setup for VoIP (Ringcentral)?

Hi,

We're moving in to a new space in a couple of days, and are trying out ringcentral.com and their VoIP phones.  There's no internal VoIP server, the phones are standalone.

The required ports seem to be:  UDP 5060-5090, and UDP 16834-16482.

Should I just open those ports bi-directionally on the phone's IP addresses, or does the ASG (or UTM these days) VoIP implementation have advantages that I should use?  Are there any how-to guides available on the UTM VoIP setup?

Anyone w/ experience w/ ringcentral or similar?

Hi ,

As you use external VOIP systems , the UTM VOIP will do the work.
VoIP like Barry mentioned are not supported by NAT , so the only solution trough the UTM is with its VOIP. Module that is really easy to configure.
There is no much to configure there and if it works for you and if should then you have an easy working solution .
If not the UTM won't help you , end opening ports won't help case you still need the way back and as mentioned VOIP does not work over NAT.
