Firewall ports for Outlook client

Hello to all,

maybe someone else already stumbled into this and can give me a piece of advice.

Situation: I have an (untrusted) network connected to our UTM via RED.
From This network some Outlook (2010) clients shall connetct to the Exchange (2010) Mail Server of our internal network.

I'd like to provide full Outlook features on the clients on one hand;
on the other I have to protect our internal network.
Therefore I only want to open as little ports as possible to be accessed from the RED network.

I'd be happy if you can provide me with tips and hints how this can be accomplished.
I'm sure there are several ways to do this so any help is appreciated

    You can do it with WAF .
    There is a document for that.
    Then you are fully features and fully protected.

    @gilipeled: this Howto is nice but mainly refers to OWA-Clients.
    My question was about plain ol' Outlook.
    So I'm pretty sure WAF won't do the job.

    @william: I already found this.
    To be true - this is far more information I can handle.
    It refers to any possible connection for any exchange server scenario even with distributed server roles on different machines in the network.
    I hoped on some document that is already narrowed down to the necessary ports for the Outlook client connection.

    Hi,
    I haven't read Wiiliam's reference, but I bet it has to explain a lot of things you didn't provide information about.
    1/. are the users members of an AD
    2/. do they need to authenticate
     a) if yes, how
    3/. are they using ssl to connect to the server
    4/. are they pop/smtp or imap users

    If you can answer the above you will find most of the ports will become obvious.
